The Hedgehog is one of the first pieces that I made and was one of the first ideas I had. I have rescued a few hedgehogs over the years in my garden and this is one of their typical poses when handled. They have a more pointed face but I felt I wanted to make the face more rounded and friendly. I had fun working out how to do the spikes and found a broken tool was the best for the texture I wanted. I used lots of oxides to get some depth in the piece. I feel overall happy with the outcome but would make the face more realistic if I was to make another one.
